The fox is seen all throughout East Asian Folklore. From the Kitsune to the Gumiho, the nine-tailed fox can be both good and evil. With ties to the god of grain and a symbol of fertility, the fox shows its duality by also causing destruction and death. This website will explore the differences and similarities found in the folklore of Japan, Korea, and China and how the fox helps these cultures express their values and beliefs.
